<title>Replica Watch Shopping for the Holidays</title>
		<link>http://www.replicapages.com/articles/shopping/replica-watch-shopping-for-the-holidays.html</link>
<description>As someone else already (correctly) suggested (even if only half-heartedly), for a 58th, I think I&amp;rsquo;d invest in the real thing. With some patience, you can pick up a second-hand Rolex Explorer 1 or Air King for as little as $1,000 in reasonable condition. The upside: you can be confident that your husband will never suffer the embarrassment of being &amp;ldquo;outted&amp;rdquo; (wearing a &amp;ldquo;fake&amp;rdquo; Rolex) and, when it needs servicing (all mechanical watches should be serviced every several years) or breaks, you can take it to almost any competent watchmaker without any problem. The downside: regular servicing can cost a few hundred dollars or more if repairs are needed beyond that. However, if, like many here, you can&amp;rsquo;t afford (or rationalize) the cost of the real thing, then a well-crafted rep can be a great alternative. As to how accurate any rep is compared to the real thing? Well, I&amp;rsquo;ve never seen a perfect rep. Even the best of them contain (at least) one or two &amp;ldquo;deviations&amp;rdquo; (mistakes) that can be spotted by a knowledgeable viewer. However, how accurate you NEED the watch to be depends on how much you (or the person who&amp;rsquo;s sizing up the watch) know about the real thing and how closely it&amp;rsquo;s inspected. As an example, on a number of occasions over the years I&amp;rsquo;ve easily fooled Rolex salespeople (the hourly types, not the watchmakers) with very cheap (and cheap-looking) reps, but was once outted by a clever waiter with a good eye in a IHOP (talk about embarrassment!). That is, very few (if any) replica watches will fool a knowledgeable viewer (so beware!).On the other hand, if, like most of the watch enthusiasts here, you just want a rep that&amp;rsquo;s good enough to wear without raising too much suspicion amongst the general public when dining out at a nice restaurant (noting my previous caveat about some waiters!), then I think most of the dealers who habit this site can provide you with a nice watch. The thing to remember is that the majority of the general public wouldn&amp;rsquo;t know a real Rolex from a Timex (except for the name). It&amp;rsquo;s other Rolex owners and watch collectors (and there&amp;rsquo;s a rapidly growing number of both!) that you need to consider when wearing a replica. As to which one? Of course, you know your husband&amp;rsquo;s taste better than anyone else. However, after more than 20 years of collecting replica watches (mostly Rolex), there are two things I&amp;rsquo;ve learned:(1) Avoid anything with gold. No matter what you&amp;rsquo;re told or how well you try to baby it, the thin gold plating/wrapping/deposition layer (whatever it&amp;rsquo;s called) will soon wear away, leaving you with an unwearable watch (unless you live on the moon or travel amongst people that don&amp;rsquo;t get out much).(2) The fewer features a watch has (e.g., extra dials, buttons, dates, stop watches, etc.), the less likely it is to be recognized as a replica. I think most pawn shops (great sources of untapped knowledge as far as Rolexes go) would tell you that the most difficult reps to spot are Explorer 1s and Air Kings. This is because they&amp;rsquo;re stainless steel, very plain and generic (though I prefer the term &amp;ldquo;understated&amp;rdquo;) and it&amp;rsquo;s relatively easy to produce a near-exact copy of a plain stainless steel watch. Next closest would be a no-date Rolex Sub. This is a classic watch (Sean Connery wore (and made popular) an early version of the no-date Sub in &amp;ldquo;Goldfinger&amp;rdquo;&amp;ndash;shortly after planting explosives, he slips out of his wetsuit, dons a white dinner jacket and lights-up his Sub to time the explosion) and similar to the watch you inquired about. This one would get my vote as your husband&amp;rsquo;s gift.</description>

		<title>What Makes a Good Replica?</title>
		<link>http://www.replicapages.com/articles/shopping/what-makes-a-good-replica?.html</link>
<description>There are a variety of quality levels of fake watches on the market today. Everything from cheapo Rolecks beaters that hardly make it home before they break to high-dollar replicas designed to fool even the experts. On what criteria do we judge what makes a 'good' fake? I'd break it down into different categories:
